Human Resources Administrator

RISE Travel Institute is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization with a mission to inspire responsible, impactful, sustainable and ethical travel through education. We are looking for a Human Resources Administrator to join our team at RISE Travel Institute. You will be working closely with our Manager of People and Culture and will be responsible for supporting volunteer recruitment, engagement, and other HR projects.

Responsibilities

  • Provide support in volunteer recruitment, on-boarding, engagement, retention,  recognition, and offboarding processes

  • Prepare documents relating to RISE HR and DEI policies and procedures 

  • Respond to internal and external HR & volunteer related queries in a timely, professional and confidential manner 

  • Work with the Executive Director and Manager of People and Culture in implementation of HR and DEI programs 

  • Support with HR and DEI projects, as and when required 

  • Attend HR and DEI related meetings as and when required 

  • Demonstrate a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion through continuous learning and ongoing personal development, modeling inclusive behaviors, and proactively managing bias

  • Demonstrate experience or genuine interest in responsible, impactful, sustainable, and ethical travel and tourism

Requirements

  • Bachelor degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field

  • Previous experience (1-2 years) as an administrative assistant/HR assistant or in human  resources/volunteer management 

  • Strong editing, writing, and verbal communication skills 

  • Comfortable using Slack, Google Docs, Gmail, recruitment systems 

  • Able to communicate and follow process to meet deadlines and schedules

  • Well-organized and systems-oriented; experience with Zapier a plus

  • Maturity and discretion in managing confidential data including staff data

Time Commitment:

The Human Resource Administrator is expected to commit at least 4 hours per week.

RISE Travel Institute is a 501(c)3 run entirely remotely by volunteers who are dedicated to inspire young travelers to create positive social, economic and environmental impact on travel destinations.
